Infrastructure is usually defined as the basic physical and organisational structures needed for the operation of a society. It is a driver of planning and making of a just and sustainable society. However, it can also cause injustice in forms of displacement, gentrification, or bypassing of certain people and places. This session focused on how the politics of infrastructure planning works, and what the actual implementation does to urban space. How can just and sustainable infrastructures be envisioned and practised?
